DMV Can also bite me.

Two visits and 5 hours total waiting...

Took my photo and everything...

But NOOO.....

I AM STILL STUCK WITH MY STUPID OLD MAIDEN NAME!

Oh and immigration has already changed my name... So my green card no longer matches any of my ID so who knows if I will be able to get a job or register for classes...

Why Social Security can Bite Me.

So.

After entering America legally,

SOCIAL SECURITY GAVE ME A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER WHILST BELIEVING ME TO BE ILLEGAL. (due to a clerical error on immigrations behalf!)

I then went to College for two years legally,

Got a U.S. drivers license legally,

Opened multiple U.S. bank accounts legally,

Obtained U.S. credit cards legally,

Married a U.S. citizen (AND SOLDIER) legally,

Obtained a MILITARY ID legally,

Obtained a green card legally...

BUT.

AS OF TODAY SOCIAL SECURITY HAS DENIED ME THE ABILITY TO CHANGE MY NAME ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS!

THEY GAVE ME A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER WHILST BELIEVING ME TO BE ILLEGAL BUT THEY WON'T LET ME TAKE MY HUSBAND'S NAME.

My husband deploys to Iraq with the United States Army's Infantry very soon. I just want to take his name...

My First Blog!

Welcome to my very first blog!

Like my profile says my name is Tahli, I am 21 years old and am a Proud Army Wife to my soldier Sam! (Shown in the picture looking oh so militant!) We have been married 8 months, have an adorable little Grey Haired Tabby named Chairman Meow and are preparing ourselves for our first deployment.

At the moment, I am a total housewife - no school, no job and no kids! But that is mostly because I am an Australian citizen and was here in the US on a student visa. But tomorrow is the big day! After months and months of waiting, having spent thousands of dollars and near drowning in all the paperwork tomorrow is the final step in me getting my greencard and being able to go back to school and get a job! It is an interview, and from what I have heard I can be granted approval right then and there! I am rather scared though... Apparently it is like an interrogation where they split us up and ask as questions and we need to take in supporting evidence like photos and letters from bootcamp to prove that we really are happily married! Which we are - most of the time - so hopefully it will be smooth sailing!

Anyway I can't wait to see what my blog looks like with my first post up so that is all for today!
